Background
In 2007 the Thai staff at Vista Pacific put together a donation project and invited the farangs to join them. The first trip was in January 2008. The reason the trip was in January was that they had to wait until dry season in order for the road to the village to be passable. This started a tradition that has grown and is continuing. Each year the focus of the donations have been for the school children in the village and the village has been chosen based on a personal relationship someone has had with that village. (The village we went to last year was chosen because one of the teachers at the school used to be one of the guards at the office.) Also each year the Thai staff take a survey trip in the fall in order to assess the village and get the lay of the land.) Last weekend the Thai staff attempted to visit 4 schools in villages in the Mae Sariang area. They were only able to visit one village due to a land slide because of the rain. As a result of the relationship that Khun Aoy has with her cousin, Khun Wasana, who is coordinator for schools in Mae Hong Song province, we will be able to do more than we have done in the past. Four villages will come together in one place so the we can make a consolidated effort toward these villages. Khun Wasana has submitted a request of items needed for each student and also for each school and village
